Memorials

ETERNAL FATHER, STRONG TO SAVE
THE "NAVY HYMN"

Eternal Father, strong to save,Whose arm hath bound the resless wave,
Who bidd's the mighty ocean deep, its own appointed limtis keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, for those in peril on the see!

O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard, and hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep, and calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee, for those in peril on the sea!

Most Holy Spirit! who didst brood, upon the chaos dark and rude,
and bid its angry tumult cease, and give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, for those in peril on the sea!

O Trinity of love and power! Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
from rock and tempest, fire and foe, protect them wheresoe'er they go;
thus evermore shall rise to Thee, glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Remember When?

Remember When? Send stories to CG WEBMASTER

9/12/07 THIS PAGE CREATED FOR LETTING OTHERS KNOW SOME OF THE STORIES

SENT IN, THOSE TOLD ON CREW NIGHT AT THE REUNIONS AND THE EVENTS OF THE

CASA GRANDE REUNION ASSOCIATION.

How about pulling the dock apart in Moorehead City.

Operation Blue Jay bringing equipment to build the Thule Greenland Airbase and frozen in the shifted "ice pack" in the month of June for almost 30 days and the "skipper" having the ship act like an iceburg cutter.

Swimming while ballast down with the tail gate open and Ben Lines shooting the shark.

The mystery of the stored beer that when a shore "party time" came about to take the beer
all the cans were empty.

What ever happened to the 20MM gun barrels that wound up in the drink on a practice gun drill?

Weren't those moldy hot dogs delicious!

Who did what when the "skipper"ordered the men to back out a loaded shell from the 5" gun.

How about that RED, WHITE and BLUE anchor.

(These are just a starter. Keep sending more)

PEOPLE. LOG ONTO http://www.warletters.com/

"Two Wolves"-- (Cherokee Wisdom)

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson
about a battle that goes on inside people. He said'
"My son, the battle is between two "wolves"inside
us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow,
regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,
inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and
then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherkee simply replied,
" The one you feed."
